The department comes into existence in the year of 2007. It imparted teaching in computer science as a core subject in science stream and permission was effect from 2008 under the Dibrugarh University. Later on due to heavy demand from the public and the students, the college introduces the PGDCA in the year of 2010 with intake capacity of forty (40) students and got the special permission from the Dibrugarh University. The department also introduce many short term courses as one(1) months (computer literacy program), three(3) months (certificate in computer Application), three (3) months( Certificate in Web Designing), six(6) months (Diploma in Computer Application), six(6) months (Diploma in Web Designig) and one(1) year (Advance Diploma in Computer Application) for the year 2010. Objectives of the Department: To create Computer Knowledge and Developed computer skill to cope the computer based modern world through teaching and learning.
Vision:

1. ​To introduce BCA and MCA courses.
2. To introduce new hardware and Software courses like Hardware repairing and maintenance, Mobile repairing, Programming language ( C++, C#, java SQL etc).
3. Department also very interested to open Major courses in Degree Level.
