Library

There is a central Library in Moran college, christened as “Moran College Library” with a present holding of 30141 books (as on 31.03.2017) with some rare publications, 14 journals, 7 magazines along with 18210 nos of reference books in Humanities subjects as well as science. The teaching department also have their own separate Departmental libraries. Students can avail book from central library as well as departmental libraries.

Moran college Library was started along with the establishment of the Moran College in 1964 in order to cater the academic and research needs of the faculty, research scholars (D.U), students, officers and non-teaching staff and local people. The library is                                                                                                                            the heart of   the college.

Moran college Library is one of the best college libraries in Upper Assam in providing efficient service to the readers. It is a place of attraction for the students. The library has been aiming to supplement the knowledge of the students, which they acquire from their teachers. Presently the library is under the control of full-fledged library staff. The Moran College Library is housed in a three-storied building on the campus.

#Identity card is must while visiting and using the library.

#Reservation of borrowed books by others may be made in a Register available in the library.

#Readers shall not write upon, damage, or make any mark upon any book, journal or magazine, or other material belonging to the library.

#Any reader observing a defect, or damage to any book or manuscript shall point out the same to the Library Staff immediately.

#Borrowers must satisfy themselves about the physical condition of the book before borrowing. Otherwise they will be responsible for any damage at the time of returning.

#Books borrowed on a particular day will not be accepted for return on the same day.

#Books taken for reference from the stack area need to be kept on the table and not to be merged on the shelves.
