Dear visitors,

Myself Mr. Atanu Bora, Assistant Professor and current Head in the Department of Zoology Moran College. I have joined Moran College as a faculty of Zoology in the year 2020. Apart from my current position, I am extending my services as an Assistant Coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Assistant Programme Officer of National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Moran College. As far as my educational qualification is concerned, I have completed my Masters degree in Life Sciences with specialization in Biochemistry from Dibrugarh University and MPhil in Life Sciences from Assam University, Silchar, Assam.

I have broad interest in the field of wildlife biology especially butterflies and their conservation. I have been documenting butterflies in different parts of North-East India for the last five years and was also involved in a project entitled Butterflies of Meghalaya in the year 2015. Currently, my prime focus includes diversity documentation, study of population dynamics and community assemblage of butterflies with human activity, their ecology and taxonomic study in North-East India. Apart from these, my extended areas of research include insect taxonomy, pollination biology, conservation biology, ecology and natural history.
